Seeking permission to use screenshots

Submitted by pvg on

Hello again, jammers!

My department is collecting screenshots to use in promoting games-related events as well as to decorate the game production studio. We would love to use some screenshots from your Global Game Jam projects! (I am thinking of a screenshot collage, highlighting work made in the room.) For student work, we have a method to use screenshots for promotional purposes, but your jam projects are a different matter. They were not created under the university's umbrella, so I need permission to use them.

Robert Bell Building
    • Come jam with us in the new Game Production Studio on the third floor of the Robert Bell Building. The studio has lots of room for jammers to work, including three 5-person work rooms and one 10-person work room in addition to movable chairs, folding/rolling tables, and ample whiteboards. Jammers with BSU accounts will be able to use the brand-new Alienware workstations for digital production. There is free public Wi-Fi for guests who bring their own laptops.

We will kick off the event with an opening ceremony that will include the keynote, and then you will be free to form teams and make games. A showcase at the end of the jam will give us the opportunity to share our results.

We expect to have some food and snacks during the event, and we expect to negotiate for free parking in the lot next to the building. Stay tuned for details!

Regular jammers will remember that our past few jams have been held in Beyerl Hall (previously North Hall) in the STEM Makerspace. This year, we're going to host in the new Game Production Studio in the Robert Bell Building. We look forward to hearing your feedback about the space.

Global Game Jam at Ball State University represents a collaboration between the Computer Science Department and the Residence Life Living-Learning Communities.

PARKING: You can find complete parking information for campus at https://www.bsu.edu/about/administrativeoffices/parking-services/locations. There is a paid parking lot right across the street from Robert Bell that is $1/hour and enforced until 7:00PM. The commuter lots near the rec center and the residence halls are a little further from our jam location and not enforced after 5:00PM.
