About
"The Other World" tells the story of Robot, a sentient robot created in 3500 on the Second Lunna Space Station. Robot is one of many robots equipped with advanced technologies such as Advanced AI, Internal Regeneration by Nanobots, Internal Energy Generation by Gravitational Generators, Super-Resistant Shell, and more.

In the year 3500 (a long time ago in the game's timeline), humanity finally managed to destroy itself. Shortly after, the planet Earth was devastated. But before the devastation, the robots from Second Lunna went to Earth and managed to rescue human DNA, various cultural artifacts, DNA from animals, and seeds from a seed bank. This would allow them to potentially find a suitable planet in the future to attempt to bring back human civilization, in a quest to recover their "creators" (seen as gods or ancestors by the robots).

The Second Lunna Station was converted into a spaceship and for untold ages traveled through the universe (the robots are self-regenerative, very resistant, and can survive practically indefinitely).

In the current time, they have found a seemingly suitable world, very similar to Earth in atmosphere, magnetosphere, and even containing a carbon-based biosphere.

However, something went wrong; the spaceship fragmented upon entering the planet, as it collided with objects of unknown origin.

The game begins with Robot, who carries within itself one of the cultural artifacts from Earth. He is alone, and communication with his fellow robots does not seem to work... This is the beginning of Robot's story.

The game currently is about surviving until finding the pieces, but the next step is to use procedural generation for the map, genetic algorithms for species evolution (between each game session, as the robot "crystallizes" upon death, spending 2500 years recovering before resuming movement)... Additionally, procedural generation of the map occurs only at the beginning of each game. After that, each time the robot dies, there will be a slight alteration in the terrain (not too significant) according to the type of geological region. Lastly, it is also intended for the game to be expanded in content, encompassing greater complexity and quantity of content, aiming to be a roguelite variant (game mechanic).



How-Tos:
» Movement: Use the WASD keys or arrow keys to move Robot around the world.
» Attack: Press the J key to execute a short-range compressed air strike against natural creatures encountered on the planet.
» Jump: Press the Spacebar to make Robot jump over obstacles and navigate the terrain effectively.

Play-Throughs:
» Exploration: Venture into the world, utilizing Robot's abilities to navigate treacherous landscapes and discover the seven pieces scattered across the planet.
» Encounter with Natural Creatures: Face various natural creatures inhabiting the planet. Decide whether to confront them directly using Robot's short-range compressed air attack or to avoid and outmaneuver them.
» Tatic Approaches: Experiment with different tactics to overcome challenges, whether engaging in combat or employing stealth and evasion tactics to evade conflict.

Main Menu:
» Narrative: Explore the game's storyline and background lore.
» Start Game: Embark on your journey as Robot to find the missing pieces and uncover the planet's secrets.
» Quit Game: Exit the game and return to the desktop.
