Full name:
Shao Wenbin
About:
Hi, my name is Shao. I am from China and I am working at the Eindhoven University of Technology as a Doctoral student in computer science.
I developed my first game when I was 16 and that childish game was published and won 3000 downloads. After that, I realized my weakness and started to do a degree in computer science to become a professional game developer. I have one year’s working experience in the game industry before I did my Master’s degree. In 2015, I shipped my first indie mobile game, Ring Ring Zoo. However, that game was not as I expected and this failure crumbled my confidence totally. After giving up game development for years, I have recovered and I restarted to develop indie games.
My hometown is a remote town. But thanks to my uncle who managed the biggest local game shop, I still had the chances to play hundreds of excellent games. Because of the undevelopment of my hometown, most of those games are even older than myself. I kept playing NES, SFC, GBA, and PS1 until I started my college life in Beijing, where I updated my game platforms to the popular ones then. Hence, I can proudly say that I have played various games in various platforms from various decades.
I have just relocated to this country last month and I haven’t found video game communities in my city (Eindhoven). I am feeling quite lonely because of the lack of friends. Thus, I’d like to join in some game communities and meet playing/developing partners. That will be thankful if I can achieve this goal via this organization.
