About:
Building games has always been my passion. From the early days of painstakingly typing in pages of numbers from a magazine to create a simple Commodore 64 game through to building an earthquake system by linking blocks in UE4.
However, my path into the games industry was not a direct one. At the Queensland University of Technology I studied Aerospace Engineering. After completing my bachelors degree I went on to complete a PhD in pathfinding for uninhabited aircraft.
It was my PhD work that led to me working in the games industry at the Creative Assembly on Medieval II: Total War. After we released the game I went to work for a few years in the agricultural industry developing automated guidance systems for tractors.
Following the completion of several products there I returned to games working for 2K Australia on The Bureau: XCOM Declassifed and for Irrational Games on Bioshock: Infinite.
More recently I have split my time between teaching and developing mobile apps and games. The combination has allowed me to pursue my passion for making games along with the opportunity to share that passion with the next generation of game developers.
