Full name:
Angela Mitchell
About:
I earned my undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies, emphasizing in Art and Music, at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and received the Pierre Laclede Honors certificate. After college, I gained extensive experience and skills in the clerical and office support fields. To explore tech jobs, I completed LC101 in December 2018. LC101 is a six-month program designed by LaunchCode to help develop coding, problem-solving, and other necessary skills to succeed in the tech community. I am very determined to develop a career that allows me to be authentic and creative.
Another strong interest I have is video gaming. As a child, I played games on multiple consoles, including Atari, Super Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Some of my favorite genres are role-playing, adventure, platformer, and simulation. I truly admire the work created from game artists, designers, developers, and programmers. After taking a introductory course about the video game industry, I am interested in learning more about game design to determine if I should consider becoming a games artist or game designer. I have only practiced making mock-ups in the introductory course, but I am very interested in learning from others who have experience creating games and contribute to a project with the knowledge I currently have in the arts and coding. I hope I can pursue more opportunities to learn more about game design and development with fellow gamers who have an interest in creating meaningful, fun games.
