ICGJ 2017 Keynote Announced, Showcase Still Open

We are proud to announce our ICGJ 2017 keynote speaker: Mr. Noah Falstein, Chief Game Designer for Google.

The International Conference on Game Jams, Hackathons and Game Creation Events (ICGJ) is the world's only academic conference dedicated to game jams. Taking place on February 26, 2017 in San Francisco, the conference brings together academics and practitioners of game creation events.

The proceedings are published at the ACM Digital Library. Paper deadlines have passed but Games Showcase pieces can still be submitted until February 1, 2017. Global Game Jam games are eligible.

This year's keynoter, Noah Falstein has been a professional game developer since 1980 (Sinistar, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Neuroracer), and was one of the first ten employees at LucasArts Entertainment, The 3DO Company, and Dreamworks Interactive.  He ran The Inspiracy, a game consultancy, for 17 years, was the first elected Chairman of the IGDA, and design columnist for Game Developer magazine for 6 years.  At Google, Falstein contributes to game projects across the company, and engages with Daydream and Tango developers as part of the VR team.

This year's event is being held at Github headquarters in San Francisco. Seating is limited. Early-bird registration closes on Feb. 11.

ICGJ 2017 is managed by the Global Game Jam and co-chaired by Allan Fowler and Lindsay Grace. It is sponsored by Github, Tobii, Unity and Game Jam Jr. Find out more about ICGJ 2017 or last year's event, ICGJ 2016.
