Feridun founded a company in the Global Game Jam event several years ago. This is his story and greetings to the Global Game Jam Community.
"I'm Feridun, a sound designer and composer with 20 years of experience in the film and video game industry. I am also the co-founder of two companies: Madrooster Game Audio Lab, where we create custom music and sound effects for video games, and SwishSwoosh, where we specialize in genre-specific sound packs and audio software. While I started out as a creative in this field, I now wear many hats as a business guy. My focus is on managing business development, finance, and marketing. Mentoring and guiding younger members of our team is something I find rewarding.
GGJ helped in building a strong network within the gaming industry
MadRooster Game Audio Lab was founded in a GGJ event several years ago. Since then, we have participated in many GGJ events, which has helped us build a strong network within the gaming industry. Through GGJ, we have had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with people from various areas such as graphic design, programming, and level design. I've always been someone who enjoys pushing myself to work long hours to create the best work possible. That's why I appreciated the GGJ atmosphere so much. There was a sense of camaraderie as everyone worked together, eating pizza, and sharing in the sleepy yet proud feeling of a job well done. It was inspiring to see the dedication and hard work of all the participants, and it made me more passionate about what I do.
By creating sound design and music for numerous GGJ games, we quickly gained experience and credibility within the industry. This experience led us to create genre-specific sound packs for our SwishSwoosh project. We are proud to continue to serve the gaming community with our high-quality audio products. It was an amazing experience for us to be a global sponsor with SwishSwoosh for GGJ 2023. We are grateful for the opportunity to support such a wonderful event and to connect with other talented individuals in the gaming industry. Additionally, participating in GGJ taught me the importance of being a team player, which has been invaluable in my career. Collaborating with others towards a shared goal, under tight time constraints, taught me the value of communication, cooperation, and compromise.
