Global Game Jam® is made by an extensive team across the world all doing their part to put on the world’s biggest game jam. After another record breaking year in 2016, with over 600 sites in 93 countries, we are pleased to introduce the Executive Committee for our jam on 20-22 January 2017:
Giselle Rosman - Executive Producer (Australia)
Giselle has been involved with GGJ since 2011 and has held positions as a Regional Organiser, an Executive Committee Member and a Board member, as well as running a large site in Melbourne, Australia for more than 200 jammers. Giselle returns to the Executive Producer role for the second year and looks forward to building on GGJ16. For Giselle, GGJ is all about inclusivity, creativity and community.
Rebecca Fernandez (Netherlands)
Rebecca has been helping out with GGJ since 2012, from running the Sydney, Australia site to regional organising and finally the executive committee. The most important thing about GGJ to Rebecca is the global aspect - that thousands of developers from around the world simultaneously make games around a central theme.
Bruno Campagnolo (Brazil)
Bruno has been participating in the Global Game Jam family since 2010. He is also the Global Game Jam organizer from Curitiba and the Regional Organizer from Brazil. He loves game jams and thinks GGJ is the best opportunity to give the world free innovative games and leave a positive mark in our game development community.
Jo Summers (England)
Jo returns to the EC and GGJ for a second year. Over the past ten years she has produced community technology events around the UK, including Hackathons, Barcamps, Maker Faires and videogame parties. After the success of her jam site in Brighton last year, she is looking forwards to hosting another, and supporting the EC team to make GGJ 2016 better than ever.
Bill Crosbie (United States)
Bill has been part of Global Game Jam since 2010. He is the site organizer for Raritan Valley Community College in central New Jersey, USA and has been a member of the regional organizer team for the United States. He has a love for the intersection of technology, art and play. He is grateful to be part of a global community that shows that there is so much more that unites us than divides us.
Brian McDonald (Scotland)
Brian has been part of the Global Game Jam since 2009, he has been a Jammer, an organiser for the Glasgow site and a Regional Organiser for UK Ireland. Brian is a Senior Lecturer in Games Software Development at Glasgow Caledonian University where he teaches programming, his research interests also lie in the area of Game Jams with an emphasis on development practices and learning. He is looking forward to helping to make 2017 the largest and most exciting GGJ ever.
On behalf of the Executive Committee, we welcome you to Global Game Jam 2017 and look forward to having you as part of the community.
