As the GGJ15 closes...

...and the last hour in Hawaii goes away, it's time to say a BIG THANK YOU to all our volunteers, regional coordinators, site organizers, collaborators, that have put so much effort in making this a reality. Also, thanks to all our participants, we hope you've had as much fun as we have making this for you. The Global Game Jam is a great opportunity to connect with people, to share experiences, and create something. Videogames do not escape to our own cultures, and it's a great moment to step back and admire and celebrate our differences and our similarities.

During 2015, more than 25 thousand participants in 518 jam sites distributed in more 78 countries created games simultaneously during the weekend. One of the biggest venues was the Global Game Jam 2015 Egypt (pictured above), with more than 800 participants. We had Belarus, Cuba, Ecuador, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Guernsey and Luxembourg as first time participants. We hope to have many more new countries join us in the next years.

We made over 5000 games! Please share your games with all people you know. Record gameplay videos of your game to make it easy to be discoverable. Encourage discussion about the techniques you used, and what went right and what went wrong. Self-reflecting on the development process is key in improving for the future.

Official dates for the next GGJ are January 29 - 31, 2016.

We hope to welcome you back in 2016, and have many more participants. Enjoy a well deserved rest.
