Each year participants and organizers are eagerly awaiting the one theme that unites them all. It's no small feat to keep the theme a surprise to all timezones equally! This year was no different, with people trying to 'pry' information from earlier timezones whom in turn were super troopers and made it 'the best kept secret' as people mentioned on twitter. There was even talk about 'potatoes' being the theme!
At time of writing participants & organizers at 480+ locations in 70+ countries are now prototyping, creating, enjoying food, collaborating and some of them are even finishing up their games. And they have one other thing in common. The theme!

Video Announcement:
GGJ14 Theme Announcement slide:
"We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are."
The quote is often attributed to American author Anaïs Nin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anais_Nin
We can't wait to see what jammers are making all around the world with this single theme.
Let us know what you think and working on via the hashtag #ggj14 on twitter, facebook and all the other channels out there!
We'd like to thank our theme committee that worked hard in the months before the jam, brainstorming, calling and emailing to discuss all the theme possibilities and came up with the theme above!
Thank you:
- Annakaisa Kultima (chair)
- Yasmine Diab
- Olli Harjola
- Anna Kipnis

Enjoy the jam!
