Hello Global Game Jam® Hosts!
It’s just a month until Global Game Jam® 2018 begins. Are you excited? We’re super excited! We will be broadcasting from our own Global Game Jam® channel for the whole event - and GGJ sites around the world will be broadcasting their own streams through the Global Game Jam® directory.
What do you want to world to know about your game jam? Do you want to showcase the games being made? Or the fantastic location? Or the delicious pizzas and snacks you’ve provided for hungry jammers? You don’t have to broadcast the whole time, but we would love to see what you’re up to during the event.
Want to have your site stream showcased? Sign up today to get a time slot on our central Global Game Jam® channel, and we will be in touch with more details soon.
Setting up your stream
If you haven’t set up your Twitch broadcasting yet, here’s a quick guide on how to get started:
Step 1: Make sure you’ve got all the right gear for broadcasting. At the bare minimum, you’ll need a webcam and broadcasting software and an OK internet connection.
Step 2: Get yourself a Twitch account. Once you've signed up, visit your dashboard or channel page to enable your account for broadcasting. Make sure you set your ‘Game Title’ as 'Global Game Jam®' to be featured on the Global Game Jam directory.
Step 3: Link your shiny new Twitch page to your jam site info on your GGJ profile. To do this, once logged in to your Global Game Jam® account, go to ‘Edit your Jam Site’ then under the ‘Jam Site Details’ area of the page, add your Twitch broadcasting URL to the ‘Live stream link’ box.
Step 4: There is no step 4! You’re all done! If you have any further questions, please email us on [email protected]
