GGJ and the COVID-19 Pandemic

As the world responds to the pandemic outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, the Global Game Jam organization hopes that you are all self-isolating, social distancing, and taking all the proper steps to ensure we "flatten the curve" of exposure in our various locales and help minimize the impact of this virus as a whole.

While the GGJ strongly emphasizes in-person collaboration as a cornerstone of our annual event, we also recognize the fact that game development can and does happen remotely. So as many of you are now working from home or in some form of distant work, we hope you will still find the time to exercise your game creation muscles and dive into personal projects and skill building, as well as collaborative work with others. And there are many virtual event options and jams taking place (such as the Stay Safe Jam, supported by the GGJ), so keep an eye out on the GGJ Twitter feed and other social media for information.

The GGJ will continue to closely monitor this dynamic situation and its impacts on the game creation ecosystem. We wish good health and safety to our awesome global community, and we will keep you informed of any potential impacts to the GGJ event currently scheduled to take place 29-31 January 2021
