Remote Jammers, It's Almost Time!

Hi all,

Just a quick update, as there are a few important things to let you know now we are well and truly in the week of jam!

    • Hello! If you are in Edinburgh or the surrounding area please come and join us to make some cool games, weird interactive thing, or any other game adjacent stuff! We welcome everyone from programmers, sound and music designers, board game creators, alt-controller builders, and more!

In-person will be located in the JKCC at Edinburgh Napier's Merchiston Campus which provides space for 150 people, with plenty of space for you to set up a team or find a quiet place to work by yourself. We will supply power and WiFi, but please don't bring a big gaming PC as it can cause issues, so stick to your laptop! Oh, and if you do want to make anything physical, please be aware you won't have access to a workshop, so no soldering and/or power tools on site! You do not need to be a ENU student to join us, either, anyone is welcome if you are 16 or over (under 16s can be accompanied by a guardian).

While we are welcoming people who want to jam in-person for the weekend, we are running the site as a hybrid event. What the means is you can join us remotely and jam a little bit each day on the run up to the weekend (from 22nd of Jan), only in-person, or any mixture in-between. We want this event to be welcoming whatever your situation and schedule!

You will receive an invite to the Discord sometime after registering. Closer to the event we will email out jammer info packs which will include more information, along with the GGJ and our site's Code of Conduct.

I will be taken the reins as organiser again, helped out by other familiar faces from the local community and hopefully some eager Napier and Heriot-Watt students.

P.S. Although the venue will be open 24 hours, we'll be encouraging jammers to practice good physical and mental health... in other words, we're wanting you to go home and sleep, so please ensure you have somewhere to stay!

In-person registration will be 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday the 26th, with the keynote and team formation after that. Online team formation will happen in the Discord!
