      Welcome to the Jam Site for the Abertay University Global Game Jam 2024!

      This jam site is open to any current Abertay University students.
      If you are alumni or local industry and would like to attend, please get in touch with us at [email protected].

      First time jammers and new students are strongly encouraged to participate and bring their new ideas, skills and experiences into the mix!

      The jam will be kicked off with a welcome ceremony at 6pm on the Friday and end with a closing ceremony on the Sunday evening.

      How can I sign up?

      What food will be available?
      - As always, we're aiming to provide pizza on the Saturday night however all jammers should ensure that they have enough snacks to see them through!

      Is this an 'all night' event?
      - GGJ 2024 is a 48 hour event - this does not mean you should, or feel pressured, to work through a full 48 hours.
      Jammers should act responsibly during this event, taking plenty of breaks and cease working when they are feeling tired.
      We encourage safe working practices and reserve the right to ask participants to leave should we feel that you are putting your own (or others) health and safety at risk.

      Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
      - You must be a current student, staff member or alumni of Abertay University.
      All participants must be aged 16 or over.

      I'm not a student at Abertay, can I still attend?
      - No, this event is open to students, invited graduates, academia and industry professionals only.

      If you work in games, academia or are are curious about games development and would like to attend, please contact us to discuss the potential for being invited to attend our site on [email protected].

      What is the hashtag so I can get to know my other jammers before the event?
      - We'll be using #AGLjam24 on social media for event specific tweets and of course will be joining in with the wider Global Game Jam community using #GGJ24

      Will equipment be provided?
      - If you are a current student at Abertay you will have access to all the machines you're used to. If you are an invited guest, it's highly recommended that you bring your own device as there is no guarantee we will be able to provide one for you.
