We welcome everyone, students, faculty, community members, and professionals from all majors, backgrounds, and skill levels. Many of our participants are novices. Afterall, no experience is required!
The joy of this jam site is coming together to learn and create with others. It is a fun, supportive environment. Please join us, especially if you've never done this before. We're happy to have you.
High school students welcome with a legal guardian approval!
Online: For non-stevenson students or those preferring an online environment, we will be offering all site activities over Microsoft Teams, in the same fasion as we did for the 2021 jam.
Stevenson Students Only: Stevenson students may participate in events and use the campus facilities and equipment during the event. Please contact [email protected] for room number (or view Blackboard/Student Activities).
Schedule:
Friday:
4-5pm: General Arrival and Registration (If you weren't sure how to register online or get onto Teams, we're here to help!). We'll also have some group games out to play both in Teams and in person.
5pm: Join us in the Fun & Games Channel to play some games and get to know each other!
6pm: Welcome, Keynote Speaker Video, & Theme Announcement. Followed by some whole-room brainstorming.
6:30pm: Dinner Break! Dinner will provided for in person attendees.
7:15: Brainstorming, Idea Sharing, and Team Forming. We will share all the ideas and groups will be formed based on the idea you want to work on. A Channel in Teams will be created for your Group to share files and chat so that in person and online can even team up together if desired.
7:45pm: Planning & Creating Begins! The labs are open until 10pm for anyone wishing to get started right away. Before you leave, be sure to get a basic plan together with your team and to share your availability.
Saturday:
The entirety of Saturday is dedicated to working on game development. Mentors will be available through Microsoft TEAMS and in person in the labs from 10am - 10pm to help you with any gaming questions or needs. We encourage working with your group as much as possible and keeping communication open. We will have a server where you can access group work remotely if necessary. Stevenson students will also have access to Unity and other software available in the gaming lab.
Sunday:
Labs will open again at 10am for in person participants.
2pm: Teams should begin uploading available materials to GGJ site as they become finished.
4:30pm: Games due to Global Game Jam. Complete all uploads.
6:00 pm: Online Only for Everyone: Game Presentations begin! Each team will talk about their experience and then invite friends and family to play their games! Invite your friends and family to come see what you've made! Online event.
