The Marietta campus of Kennesaw State University has a tradition of hosting "Game Jams", events that are open to students and non-students alike. At a Game Jam, you spend 48 hours straight in an academic building at the Marietta campus developing a game from the ground up.
The Spring 2020 Global Game Jam had over 100 registered participants who created over 20 different games. Additionally, three student teams partnered with Make-a-Wish Georgia to develop a game to inspire those who are battling cancer.
The Spring 2021 Global Game Jam was hosted completely online through Discord due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 50 jammers enjoyed the online experience and finished 11 games. Now this year 2022, we are bringing it back to local on-site and encouraging more jammers to join.
