Hello!
It's 2022 and we're once again holding the Brighton GGJ in Discord, where we will be jamming from 6.30pm on Friday until sometime Sunday evening. There will be no in-person workspace or meetups this year, sorry.
Please see our updated jammer guide for a bit more information as to what you can expect from the event.
The doors of the virtual site (on Discord) are now open to give you all time to find your way around, post introductions and let people know what your skills are or what you are looking to do this jam. It's a perfect opportunity to try something different from your usual skill set!
The Brighton site is generally pretty relaxed and friendly, and people of all talents, professions and skill levels are welcome—you don't need to be a pro coder or artist! Teams will be formed when the jam starts and you can make any kind of game—digital, physical, and hybrid.
The theme will be officially announced before the Brighton GGJ starts this year. If you don't want to know before we start, we'll try to avoid spoilers!
No background in tech or previous programming experience is needed - we need artists, sound designers, organisers, writers - and enthusiasm to come up with cool game ideas! People will be on hand to help out where you need - and we will have channels set up to encourage knowledge sharing for different disciplines. We also want encourage diversity at the event - under represented groups from the games industry are especially welcome.
We're afraid that this year it's Bring Your Own Everything—this will be a purely online event. We will however have a virtual kitchen channel to hang out in, have a cup of tea, and catch up with your fellow jammers. We also intend to run show and tell sessions on the Saturday, as well as a site music playlist that you can choose to contribute to, and more!
To sign up - make sure you click the button above!
We will also be upholding a safe space policy for the event which can be found here.
Brighton GGJ 2022 is being run by your pal,
