The jam site is open to any current Abertay Students or Alumni. If you would like to take part in Global Game Jam but do not meet this criteria, we recommend attending our sibling site here!
First time jammers and new students are strongly encouraged to participate and bring their new ideas, skills and experiences into the mix.

FAQs
Is this an 'all night' event?
- GGJ 2022 is a 48 hour event - this does not mean you should, or feel pressured, to work through a full 48 hours.
- GGJ 2022 is ONLINE; while this might make it easier to stay up late, you are expected to get sleep on both nights!
- Jammers should act responsibly during this event, taking plenty of breaks and cease working when they are feeling tired.
We believe it is entirely possible to practice your craft safely and complete a game jam successfully without endangering your health. This is a special annual event but we do not support or encourage 'all-nighters'.
Some of the best results in previous years usually come from teams who manage to work at peak performance by taking regular breaks, staying hydrated and eating well.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
You must be a current student, staff member or alumni of Abertay University.
All participants must be aged 16 or over.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
First point of contact throughout the event will be the Abertay Global Game Jam 2022 Discord, which is linked above.
Before the event, you may also contact Abertay Game Lab on [email protected] or Twitter @abertaygamelab.
I'm not a student at Abertay, can I still attend?
The intention for this jam site is to provide a space for Abertay students to come together an collaborate. If you're from the area and are interested in participating, we recommend you attend the other Dundee site here.
If you're mostly a team of Abertay students, but perhaps have a friend outside of Abertay that you want to work with then this is also okay!
What is the hashtag so I can get to know my other jammers before the event?
We'll be using #AGLjam22 on social media for event specific tweets and of course will be joining in with the wider Global Game Jam community using #GGJ22
