Pocket Change is an attempt to reproduce some of the mechanics of the NES Classic Super Mario Bros. in the Pixel Game Maker MV engine. There was going to be more exposition about how the character got there (and more detailed pixel graphics than the placeholders), with the coins being necessary for a displaced quantum physicist to find their way home from being lost between dimensions, but… stomping around and collecting coins was about as far as I got. It was a great learning experience, though! There's one glitch I wasn't able to find the cause of where the player character jumps once without input about 3-4 seconds into the game. It might throw you off a bit. Make sure to press ESC if you can't read the text on the title screen (it will expand it to fullscreen mode)!
