The idea behind this game is that you're lost and trapped in a labyrinth with monsters! If you cross a monsters path, if it finds you, it will hunt you. There are two objectives to the game: 1) Don't get caught 2) Help monsters find their match. Before you can leave the labyrinth, you must match each monster with its paired. There's one version of each monster that looks very friendly and another that looks angry. Don't be deceived by the friendlier looking ones!
To help the monsters find each other you can use portals to move them around. The left mouse button creates an entry portal that you want to lure the monster into, and the right mouse button creates an exit portal that they'll teleport through. Not only will this help you match up the monsters, it can also be used to protect yourself when being chased. If you put a portal between you and a monster pursuing you, you can get it to go through the portal! They're drawn to portals just like they are to you.
Movement in the game is turn based and the map is laid out on a grid of squares. So when you move, they move. You can take your time to think about where you want to go next or how you might want to place a portal.
***We weren't able to get all features updated in the weekend, though we will post an update once we do. Currently the monsters will chase you and there's an exit on the map that you can find. You CAN create portals but the functionality to teleport monsters away isn't built in yet. And the monsters don't actually kill you/end the game when they "get" you.
- Unzip the file
- Open the folder and run the "Test Project" application
- Left click on the splash scren to get started!
To get the monsters and exits to work you need to have Visual Studio Community including C++ game development.
