Students from the University of Sussex only.
Our plan is to open at 4 pm on the Friday in Meeting Room 1 of the Chichester building for people to check-in, get to know each other, and form teams for the event. Then we will be using the Future Technology Lab for the jam from 9pm onwards for people to design and make their games.
This may be happening in the home of the Engineering and Informatics department, but no previous experience in game development is required. Even if you've never made a game or can't code, you're welcome to join in and learn by doing.
There are a limited number of computers in this lab and we do not have the power to install any software on them, so please bring your own laptops if you can and try to share your machine with others in your team if you can't.
Anyone who wants to make board games or other physical games is completely welcome to do so, but be aware that we do not expect to provide materials or tools to do so.
We can't guarantee any provision of food or drink, but we might be providing a limited amount of pizza and/or beer on the first evening. You are welcome (and encouraged) to bring your own food and drink and/or have food delivered to the event.
[We are still confirming room scheduling with the school so exact rooms/times may change. In the event that happens we will notify everyone as best we can.]
