UNO's Criss Library Creative Production Lab and RHO Interactive Entertainment are leading the charge for GGJ in Omaha with Omaha Game Dev Association on call for outreach! Students from any institution and community members are welcome for on-site and online registration.
As noted on the site, and an update from prior years: GGJ is an 19+ event. Either you are a legal adult yourself, or your legal guardian must be present the entire time to meet both GGJ's rules, and UNO's event requirements. We ask folks to be considerate of others in the space and the kids themselves by not bringing young children for the duration of the event. We are open to families and friends on sunday from 3 to 5pm so everyone can play all the finished games!
RHOiE will be helping folks gather into teams during brainstorming on Friday night, and even into Saturday morning if necessary. Everyone is welcome and should feel welcome regardless of experience or expertise. If you want to make a version of patty-cake about gardening: DO IT. We;re here to help.
Site Organizers will be operating as conflict resolution contacts and ombudsman should any issue arise. We'll even be making sure you take breaks and make realistic scope decisions so yer game is done and playable on sunday. GGJ and Omaha Game Dev Association is all about seeing this community grow! Double check GGJ code of conduct and you'll be kosher.
Friday the doors open at 5:30pm. 6pm is the Theme Announcement. We'll brainstorm and be done by 10pm.
Saturday the doors open at 8:45am and close out at 10pm.
Sunday we will be DONE by 5pm so folks can go watch their football if they wanna.
We will lockdown both rooms at 10pm friday and saturday night, so you can feel safe setting up a work station and leaving it for the event.
Bring your own computers, cables, and surge protectors. Physical games should bring own materials. Sponsors will have a limited stock of analog materials on hand to help tabletop game designers.
RHOiE will have pizza at 1pm on Saturday for everyone that wants to eat. Other meals will be on individuals to cover on their own, but Aksarben Village is within walking distance. BBQ and vegan options are nearby.
We'll have some high-carb snacks, fresh drip coffee, and a big-ol-jug of Nebraska's own Kool-aid for everyone that's registered to cover you between breaks and meals.
If you make a game at this location and would like to exhibit it publicly, UNO's CPL is offering free hosting on their Arcade Machine. Details including specs and inputs available below:

We will bring the arcade input stick with us for testing. The CPL will also bring along a Magic Leap Creator Kit at request for anyone interested in doing AR. Heck, if we find some usb controllers this week we'll bring those too.
If anyone has any specific requests or concerns, email the site organizer Charles Fisher at: [email protected]
