Once more, we're excited to welcome you to the 2020 edition of Global Game Jam, at the Menlo Park, CA campus of Oculus and Facebook. Our goal is to provide a great environment for learning, friendship, and game creation.
Please make sure to register on our ticket site. Tickets are nominally $5, but we'll refund that if you check in at HQ on Friday evening. We will require you to have a ticket to attend; you must have a ticket, be 21 or older, and be willing to sign our usual visitor NDA.
Parking on Friday will be very limited, and we'd really appreciate it if you could use a ride-share service or taxi. If you do need to drive, make sure to arrive early, as you'll need to park in a remote lot (Event Parking, which is at 1100 Hamilton Ct, Menlo Park) and walk or shuttle to the jam site. Things will ease up considerably on Saturday and Sunday.
As always, this site doesn't have a competition. Everyone makes games, everyone shows off what they've made at the end, and in the middle we all eat together. We've had the most fun when teams work together and new teammates are welcome, so we're going to keep doing that. You don't need to form a team before you get here - we'll do a team-formation exercise at the start, and it's always fun to start a friendship when there's a deadline and a deliverable!
We'll have Oculus VR hardware available to borrow, as well as engineers from Oculus and Facebook, participating in the jam and available to help your team.
There won't be a wired network, so if you're bringing a desktop computer, please make sure it has wifi. Bring a sleeping bag and pad if you're planning to stay overnight - the floor is hard. But everything else is as awesome as we can make it.
