In Identity Disorder, each player has a role and will be classified into a good identity or bad identity. Players in both camps need to let themselves become the majority of players. The game ends after one of the camps eliminates all the players of the opposite camp by acting the good identity to gain the trust of the host identity. In the end, the host has to reorganize the truth to all players. This game is a trial of repairing, guessing and betray. The number of players: 4-14 people, including a host identity and the game master. ...................................................... The main identities lost his memories. So, The sub-identities start a war to fight for a chance to repair the memory aiming to control the main character by letting the main character believe their point of view of the story - To repair the main character as their willingness. Every identity gives value to the “person”, after the loss of memories. Each identity repair Alice as their will (their thought of what Alice should be) to repair Alice by giving right or wrong memory. Like us human, we always do things that we thought is good for ourselves or others, but sometimes it is not, sometimes repair is replace and control rather than helping. We may repair something and lost something at the same time...

How to play?

Game Setting

1)Shuffles the Character Cards with the correct number, then distribute them to each player. Face-up the Character Card if you are the host identity or the Game master, else keep it a secret.

2)The Game Master is the person who holds the game. He/She has the priority to read the story. Before the game starts, the game master should reveal the end of the ”Memories.”

3)Game master shuffles the Dream Cards, then Put them in the centre, this is called Card Deck.

4)The Game master should check and memorize each player’s identity. 

5)Distribute 3 heart tokens to each player, excluding the host identity. Once a player’s heart token met 0 in the gameplay, he/she will be determined to be eliminated.

6)Look at the information of your Character Card. Begins from the one sit left to the Host identity, figure out the most possible “Memories” of the character. You cannot overthrow the “Memories” once said by any players. 

 

 

The main goal of each identity:

-Host identity - reorganise the event based on the stories the identities tell

-Good identity - help the host identity, eliminate the bad identities 

-Bad identity - disturb the good and the host identity to reach their goals, eliminate the good identities

 

During Game

1)Starts from the one sitting to the left of the host identity

2)Tell the “Memory” which “lead to the end”

a)TIP: If you are the good identity, tries to figure out the real story by the clues you found and who is the bad identity, eliminates them; 

b)If you are a bad identity, tries to cheat all players that you are the good one while keeping the “Memories” fake;

c)If you are the host identity, tries to figure out the real identity of each player: damage the bad, save the good. Make good use of your own identity.

4)When all player ends their turns, a round ends. 

5)Players can choose a player who has the possibility to be a bad identity, the one picked by most players will lose 1 heart token.

6)The host identity has the priority here to choose at most one player to lost 1 heart token. In the whole gameplay, He/She has 1 opportunity to let one player regain an heart token.

7)The host identity will make a “Dream” about her “Memories” by picking a card from the Card Deck. In the next round, every identity should tell a new “Memories” based on their understanding of the Dream Card.

How to win?

Game master takes the role to check if any of the winning condition was met:

A)If all good identities were eliminated, the bad identities’ camp win;

B)If all bad identities were eliminated, the good identities’ camp win;

C)If all bad identities were eliminated and the “memory” repaired was correct, the host identities win. (This does not conflict with condition B)

 

Design Rationale

Background

The game was based on Dissociative identity disorder (DID). This is frequently used by plenty of movies being an impressive theme. Compared to movies, DID seldom used as the theme of a board game. In our game, all players are playing the same person but in different identities with different goals: to repair or replace the memory. This unique background would be the biggest selling point of our game.

Story 
When the protagonist was young, her father violently clashed with her mother because of financial issues. In order to threaten her mother, her father abducted the protagonist and performed sexual assault, leaving the protagonist with psychological trauma. New personality identities were born to isolate her from the pain she suffered ----
1) Alice, the protagonist
2)Bonnie, who suffered all the pains and bad memories for Alice when Alice was sexually assaulted by her dad. This has broken her and she was then locked up by Edden to protect both her and Alice.
3)Giana
4) Dora, Personality resulting from a vision of an image that violates public morality. 
5)EddenBecause of her desire to be protected, she created her brother's personality;
6) Florence, A bystander personality who only appears to assist when other personalities are harmed; (bystander)
7) Cavin. Longing for a gentle and considerate father, creating an ideal father's personality; (father type)

Time flies, the protagonist has grown up and gradually walked out of the shadow. Together with a group of identities, she lives life as a normal high school girl. 

Once, Alice visited the hospital under the arrangement of her school. She encountered a friendly graduate student in psychology and was invited to visit his research institute. Driven by curiosity, Alice visited the institute. The student has then hypnotized Alice and sexually harassed her. 

This act awakened and angered the weak personality who had been sleeping for many years. They collaborated to plan and kill the student together. 

Weak personalities mapped out the plan; 

Dora used the host’s identity and pretend to be her to contact the student again. To meet the student, Dora proposed a date in a hotel after a few chats. Dora tried to be seductive by sexual touches in order to distract him, then inject anesthesia drugs into the student’s body. Cavin comes out and does the last “disposal”. He brings the student out of the hotel, acting like he was drunk. Then he takes the student and drives his car to their own house. The house is empty. The only thing that exists is the student bound on a chair. His eyes were covered by a blindfold, he lost his vision. He can only sense the space from sound and humidity. A small touch-first appeared on his skin behind his left ear, cheek, chin, then to the right ear.

It comes across the face, then hair. He can feel a bunch of his hair was cut off and slip off his shoulder. It was light and itchy. Suddenly became hurt. A piece of flesh on his shoulder was cut down. It was so painful that he can feel his blindfold become moist because of his tears. He starts crying in fear, then screams. At last, he lost his mind with the whole body of blood.

Yet, the student’s life still not able to let Father forgive his mistake. He cut off all his flesh and clean the place in silence. 

That night, Cavin brings back a bunch of fresh meat. A full meal of meat was prepared for dinner. Unfortunately, the host personality found the student's fingers in the soup of her dinner, and was shocked and lost her memory.
