We are excited to host the Global Game Jam in downtown Frederick!
Sponsored by Cowork Frederick.

Who Can Attend?
There are no experience requirements to attend -- we welcome anyone with an interest in games, and will be looking for a variety of skills including: art, sound, music, game design, and programming.
Please try to attend the entire weekend, as a courtesy to the other jammers.
We will have a number of experienced game designers on hand, and will try our best as time allows to guide newcomers through introductions to the tools and skills we will be using. In particular we have experience building games using the free Unity game engine, with C# programming, and are familiar with both 3D and 2D game design and asset creation.
Depending on the number of participants, we may be able to all work together, or to break up into multiple teams. We welcome other tools and other types of games as well, including tabletop and board games, etc.
Food & Drinks
Participants will be responsible for their own food and drinks, but there are a number of local restaurants, cafes, and shops within short walking or driving distances.
We will provide snacks and drinks, but we encourage participants to bring their own, or some to share, as well!
Participants will be responsible for finding their own sleeping accommodations for the two nights of the jam.
Downtown Frederick has a number of parking garages that provide a short walk to the event location. More information about parking rates and garages, as well as information about street parking, can be found here: https://www.cityoffrederick.com/207/Parking. A map of the parking garages is available here: https://www.cityoffrederick.com/DocumentCenter/View/326/HC_Access?bidId=
Try to arrive at 5pm on January 25. We’ll begin at 6pm.
Submissions are on Sunday at 5pm, with a review time afterward.
Participants are free to work at their own pace and keep their own preferred hours during these two days. These may include late nights, although no one is required to work later, or earlier, than they are comfortable with.
