In Grandfatherland, the player takes the role of the Grandlandfather. It is the players job to guide their people, consisting of landfathers and their folks, in a quest to make all the people of the world one big family who shares the lands as their common home. The player can move their folks around the world to encounter other landfathers and folks, which they can integrate into their domain through diplomacy or war. The player must use the folks' love for those who are like them - and dislike for those who are different - to expand. It is also important to consider the folks affinity for different terrains when moving them through the world. The player can also combine different folks to make new peoples with combinations of abilities!
