A Cycle of Hearth & Home

A Cycle of Hearth & Home is a Gloabl Game Jam 2019 collaboration between Eamonn, Damoel and Boris. Programming and level building was done by Eamonn, mechanics, design and narrative was done by Damoel and all art was done by Boris. "In a distant land a community stands on the brink. Invaders have come and their ways blight the land and scrorch the homes of the native spirits and dwellers alike. Take up the final stand of these people, struggle against the coming of their twilight, and preserve the ways of their community." Instructions: construct buildings in your line to raise morale and provide defense as your population swells. Assign different members of the population to ensure buildings are repaired, morale is raised or enemies are attacked. The game operates on a peace / attack cycle; after a minute passes, the cycle changes. During the attack cycle, you can only watch and hope that your people survive another wave of enemies. How long can you last before your inevitable defeat? * Due to a shortage of time and general time constraints, many programmatic elements of the game (such as logic and implementation of different types of enemies and buildings) are incomplete.

Technology Notes: 
Game engine powered by Unity 2018.3, using C# as scripting language. Krita was used to create all sprites and art used within the game.
