Jam Site Description:

Hello Everyone!

New year, new you, new games! Kick off this upcoming semester by joining us January 26th-28th for Sheridan’s very own Global Game Jam 2018. We would like to thank Ubisoft Toronto and Unity as our door prize sponsors, Brock University and McMaster University Communication Studies and Multimedia Department as our educational partners, as well as the Sheridan SSU. This is going to be a fun-filled GGJ, full of food, door prizes, and jamming with friends!

The event is open to anyone, no previous game development experience is necessary! So if you've wanted to make a game with friends from another program, classmates, or your grandma, NOW IS THE TIME! Don’t have a team ready? Don’t worry about it - we’ve scheduled time in for team building, use this opportunity to meet new friends and work with different people!

In classic game jam style we'll be jamming together in the same space, we have the open tables and study rooms in the Learning Commons booked for our exclusive use. Make sure you bring your own equipment. In addition, we’ll also be providing FREE MEALS this year on Saturday and Sunday!

Sign up for it NOW to secure your spot: https://globalgamejam.org/2018/jam-sites/sheridan-college

The jam theme for this year will be announced at 5pm on Friday (26th), so aim to be there a bit early. Hope to see you all there!

Cheers,

The Sheridan Game Design Society

In the spirit of good health and fun, we encourage you to jam all day, and rest all night at home.  Getting a good night sleep will help you stay sharp during the jam.  Sheridan College Security does not allow people to sleep in the library or anywhere on campus.  No tents or sleeping bags would allowed either.  Seriously, get a good night sleep and freshen up at home.

Code of Conduct

Purpose

The Global Game Jam® (GGJ) focuses on bringing communities together through collaboration, innovation, and experimentation and our website engages that spirit. ‬As‭ ‬such,‭ ‬we‭ ‬are‭ ‬committed‭ ‬to‭ ‬providing‭ ‬a‭ ‬friendly,‭ ‬safe,‭ ‬and‭ ‬welcoming‭ ‬environment‭ ‬for‭ ‬all,‭ ‬regardless‭ ‬of‭ ‬gender,‭ ‬sexual‭ ‬orientation,‭ ‬ability,‭ ‬appearance, ethnicity,‭ national origin, ‬citizenship, socioeconomic‭ ‬status,‭ ‬and‭ ‬religion‭ (‬or‭ ‬lack‭ ‬thereof‭)‬.‭

This‭ ‬code‭ ‬of‭ ‬conduct‭ ‬outlines‭ ‬our‭ ‬guidelines ‬for‭ ‬all‭ ‬those‭ ‬who‭ ‬participate‭ ‬in‭ ‬our‭ ‬community,‭ ‬as‭ ‬well‭ ‬as‭ ‬the‭ ‬consequences‭ ‬for‭ ‬unacceptable‭ ‬behavior. We‭ ‬invite‭ ‬all‭ ‬those‭ ‬who‭ ‬participate‭ ‬in‭ GGJ‭ ‬to‭ ‬help‭ ‬us‭ maintain these guidelines and ‬create‭ ‬safe‭ ‬and‭ ‬positive‭ ‬experiences‭ ‬for‭ ‬everyone. ‏Appropriate ‬Behavior
