With GBC Toronto Global Game Jam 2018 just two weeks away, we at the IGDA GBC wanted to reach out to all of our participants with important information regarding the event and addressing questions many of you have.
First of all, I want you to know how grateful we are for you choosing our site January 26-28th. Last year our location ranked as the largest Global Game Jam site in Ontario, and third largest in the Country! With no entrance fees and tons of amenities on-site and nearby, we were one of the best places to jam in all of Canada.
This year we are already on track to exceed last years attendance, and it couldn't be possible without you and your teams joining and spreading the word. So thank you. Speaking of teams...
In the last few weeks, we have received many emails with questions about team and solo sign-ups, and we're here to help:
If you are part of a team, please have ONE person from your team fill out the Team Registration Form (link below)
If you are a solo-jammer, please fill this form out, using your own email for team information.
If you require any equipment, space, or more team members, this is where you let us know!
Important Dates/Times to Note:
Friday, January 26th:
The IGDA GBC will open the doors to the event for sign in. On sign-in you will receive a wristband that MUST be worn for the duration of the event. In order to get a wristband, you will need to sign up on our eventbrite page(link below)
Global Game Jam will release the 2018 theme and video at 5PM local time.
Saturday, January 27th:
The deadline to create a user profile and game page on the Global Game Jam website. If you have not already registered there, please do so now!
Sunday, January 28th:
The deadline to submit your game! Please submit early, you don't want to not have your submission rejected bc the upload time took too long.
These are essential to making your team's sign-in go smoothly. If you have any questions, please let us know!
