Element 6

There was a story we were told as children, some of us, a very old story about 5 planets that used to communicate in harmony, but something happened, something with the stars, and they all suddenly stopped. Time passed and they all spoke differently. Now, no one is alive anymore that remembers the old language. Over the years we learned to develop our technology to the neglect and detriment of all of our resources. The imbalance is critical at this point. Preliminary scans reveal the 5 planets within several lightyears of us. Life appears to be thriving and they all seem rich in different elements we need. A decision was made to attempt to make contact with the different planets and negotiate trade for necessary resources. A team was assembled. You are this planet's most qualified linguist. We need you to attempt to communicate with life on these other planets using combinations of sounds that the ship is capable of transmitting long distance.
