Installation Instructions: 

If you haven't used nodejs before or any web technology, to run this game locally grab a friend who is well versed in computer software development and have them install NodeJS and Git on your computer.

Next, use git to clone this repository (in a cmd terminal):

git clone https://github.com/zpallin/wave_game.git

Once you've cloned the repo, go to the directory it is in (usually "cd wave_game") while you are still in the terminal. Then, run:

 

npm install

To install dependencies for the program. Last but not least, run:

node index.js

To run the game! Your friends on a local network can now connect to the game over a web browser (chrome is recommended) by going to your local ip address at port 3000.

You can find your local IP by running ifconfig (Linux/Mac) or ipconfig (Windows).

Example: If your ip is "192.168.0.1" then the game will be accessible in a local network at "http://192.168.0.1:3000".
