VR Wood Chipper, Oops! - Oculus Rift DK2, Razer Hydra or Perception Neuron and a paint brush

Sacrifice your fingers to the wood chipper god! A study in virtual body ownership inspired by the rubber hand illusion, and the research of Mel Slater (don't tell him.) Features the joys and perils of working up close with a wood chipper. Also includes a VR version of the rubber hand illusion - bring your own medium artist paint brush and a friendemy. Works with Razer Hydras or the Perception Neuron mo-cap suit for hand and body tracking. Send us a Vive or Touch controllers, and we'll happily expand support.

The .exe is for Hydra, "back" button or space to recenter, "start" button or N key for next scene.

If you want Neuron support, grab the project to set your IP, port, etc in Unity.  We used Unity 5.3.2p1.

The rubber hand / body transfer illusion works best with two people.  Try to match Hydra base and left arm pose with what you see in VR.  Hold a medium artist paint brush with the right Hydra and brush the left hand/arm so virtual images match touch sensation.  Then hit right bumper on the right Hydra and go to town fast!  You're trying to reproduce this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxwn1w7MJvk

For the wood chipper scene, it can be tricky to place your Hydra base so you don't punch your desk/monitor.   Try your chair far away, and lean forward to grab the Hydras.  Your DK2 position also moves your body.  It's also an option to strap the Hydra emitter to the top of your DK2 (actually not joking about this), so you can walk and have hands.  Maybe, just buy a Neuron.

We're sorry about the mess, it's a pretty technical project for a weekend.
