2015 Facebook Event with live updates is here.
We are excited to be hosting the 2015 Global Game Jam at UC Santa Cruz this year. The event is free and open to everyone. Please register here on the Global Game Jam site if you are planning to attend, as it helps us make sure we buy enough food and snacks.
We'll be kicking off with sign-in at 4:00pm in The Simularium (E2-180). Come join us!
Joining us late?? We'll be jamming in and around the game lab (Baskin Engineering room 364). Join us!
A full schedule is available here.
Deirdra "Squinky" Kiai will be kicking off our event with a guest talk. Squinky is a writer, programmer, musician, and visual artist who creates videogame-like artifacts about gender identity, social awkwardness, and miscellaneous silliness. They are currently completing an MFA in Digital Arts and New Media at UC Santa Cruz.
Plenty of workspace will be available during the event. Teams will need to bring their own computers and power strips. Some communal whiteboards will be available, however, any team wishing to have their own dedicated whiteboards will need to bring their own.
UCSC jammers will have the opportunity to work with SDKs for Seebright, a forthcoming head-mounted AR display. See the schedule for workshop time.
All teams that wish to will have an opportunity to present their final games during our closing presentations on Sunday night from 5 PM - 6 PM. This is completely optional, but historically has been a great way to share your work in a supportive environment.
All teams are encouraged to attend, even if they have not officially submitted work or do not plan to present.
Dinner will be provided following our guest speaker and the Global Game Jam's keynote video. Coffee and Tea will be available around 10:30 PM. Coffee, Tea, Bagels, and Muffins will also be provided Saturday and Sunday mornings around 9 AM.
Dinner, along with Coffee and Tea, will be provided Sunday night during the closing presentations.
Attendees looking to park on Friday will need to purchase a visitor's permit from the parking office, or park in the remote lots for free after 5 PM. Parking is free on Saturday and Sunday, including the parking structure near our event space.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the people who made this event happen. The UCSC Global Game Jam site would like to formally recognize:
