petroji puts 2 - 4 players in control of a tribe of early humanoids who must communicate using only petroji, a mix between "petroglyphs" and "emoji"/"emoticons."
In addition to each player's need to negotiate the meaning of each petroji on their own, early humanoid have a restricted time to do their communicating until their culture advances further. There are limits on the amount of time in each round to communicate, a limit of petroji available (growing over time as culture grows and new discoveries are made), and a limit of how many petroji can be communicated each round.
Our goals were to make the game multiplayer over the web.
Each player has their own personal knowledge, which they must attempt to share with the other players using only the custom petroji created for our game.
Along the way, they will face the challenges of hunger, wild animals, natural disasters, and the most fearsome of all foes, other early humanoids.
Frontend and Backend work from Catsync and ricklon.
Mstrawder provided our theme music and Jon511 did our petroji.
Themaka provided HTML and CSS work, as well as communicated between the different team members, and operating as a project manager.
Finally, billcrosbie and (Will, I need your user name!) provided additional game design and generally helpful conversation!
