“FACE OFF” is a multiplayer hybrid board game, for up to 4 players. The components of the game consist of a board and a software. The goal of the game is to find out which character you are (fictional or real), by deciding what to do in a number of circumstances as if you were in this famous person’s shoes.
At the beginning of the game the software will secretly assign a fictional/historical character to each player, giving them only a minimum amount of information to handle (sex, ethnicity, fictional/real). Based on the Global Game Jam theme “what do we do now” we created “What-if” situations and we asked the players to answer randomly, software-assisted generated questions, that have very low or extremely high relevance with their hidden personalities (for this version, we only used 4 fictional characters). The percentage of relevance with your secretly assigned personality earns you the right to move forward in the board, to stay put or to move backwards one step (negative points). The first player to reach the end, wins the right to guess his character. If his guess is right, he is the winner of the game or else he lose. The game continues until everybody finds out their secret identity.
