Attack on Fire Monster

Attack on Fire Monster is an exploration into Collaborative Gaming in the context of turn-based RPGs. Picture classic JRPGs such as Final Fantasy 6 or Pokemon where decisions are made in order to determine the location of the character, the conversation options that progress the story and the battle sequences that challenge the player to think strategically. Now picture 4 players on a Nintendo Wii or over a network having to make those decisions together. In Attack on Fire Monster, you play as the great sorceress, Juliana as she battles her arch nemesis, the legendary Fire Monster! In this epic turn-based battle, players have 3 options for actions that Juliana can perform. When 'Vote' appears on the screen, players have 2 seconds to pick Juliana's next move. The most voted for decision proceeds as her action for the round. Player indecision (no majority vote) is penalized, causing Juliana to hurt herself in the confusion! Team Fire Monster succeeded in implementing the basic mechanic behind the game for the purposes of play testing. In future, the mechanic can be expanded into collaborative world exploration and conversations!
