You have just woken up after a wild party at your house. All your drunk friends are gone and the place is a mess. Suddenly your phone buzzes and you see a text from your parents: "We're coming home!" Yikes! Better hurry up and put things back in order before they arrive!! After Party is a hybrid game that combines board game mechanics with a digital app. The physical elements represent the home stage, player movements, cleaning items and tasks spread out across the house. The app delivers an interface for texting with your parents, rolling for moves, and marking cleaning tasks as complete. As the player, you must move from room to room, uncovering tasks that need to be performed and collecting their required cleaning items. Finish all the tasks before your parents' car reaches the house and you win the game! The game can be played by up to four players, but the most challenging fun can be had in single player mode. There are four cleaning items around the house: a sponge bucket, trash can, vacuum cleaner, and tools. When a player reaches a room with an uncovered task that matches one of their carried items, that player may complete the task. Each player can only carry two items at a time, and different types of tasks take different amounts of time to complete. You need to be smart about which objects you take as you move around the house in order to finish on time and avoid the wrath of your parents! <<<SETUP>>> Shuffle the task cards and distribute them all face down in the allotted spaces of each room. There are 6 rooms and 16 cards, so some of the rooms will have only 2 cards while others have 3. Place the cleaning item cards over their matching icons in the respective rooms. Choose a player piece and place it in the entryway (with the WELCOME mat). Load the game app onto a device of your choosing (touch screen recommended). <<<INSTRUCTIONS>>> The general flow of a turn goes as follows: 1.) roll the dice in the app and move your pawn up to the number of rooms shown; 2.) pickup/drop cleaning items **NOTE: picking up an item means you remove it from the board and keep it on your side of the table; you can only pick up an item if it is in the room in which you ended your move; you can only hold up to two items at any given time; when an item is dropped, it must be placed in the room where the player's pawn is currently standing**; 3.) reveal the top card in the room where you landed your pawn, if not already overturned; 4.) complete the task shown on the top card (and discard it) only if you are holding the required cleaning item as shown on the card; 5.) repeat from #2 above until either the player is unable to complete the top task card or all the cards in that room have been removed. <<<USING THE APP>>> You begin your turn by rolling with the dice function in the app. The number that appears (within the range 1 - 3) indicates the total number of rooms you may traverse in that turn. The move action is a single one, so if you role a 3 but decide to stop after moving only 1 room, your remaining 2 are forfeit. Every roll will decrease the countdown by 1 no matter what number is rolled. When completing a task, you must open the Todo list in the app and select the task you are completing. The app will then mark the task as complete and decrease the parent countdown for the amount of time it took. The player may choose at any time to use the SMS feature in the app. This will display a text conversation with your parents and (if enough time has passed) reveal options for sending requests that serve to prolong the time it takes for them to return home. When all tasks have been marked complete, you win! If the countdown reaches 0 before all tasks can be completed, your parents arrive home and discover whatever evidence of the party that has not yet been cleaned up--You Lose D:

The board and game pieces must be printed from the provided PDF file. We recommend using double-sided tape for the pawns. If you are printing to board on regular paper, strong craft tape is recommended.
