Junk Asylum

Junk Asylum is a "physical" boardgame, with dice, cards and a small board. Players are Items that anyone could use in real life. But they think they are people! During a Psychiatrist session, step by step, they have to discover what they really are. If they fail, they will have to finish their life in the Junk Asylum. Installation Instructions: 

JUNK ASYLUM is a boardgame for 1 (solo game) to X players (cooperative game)

Players are Items that anyone could use in real life. But they think they are people! During a Psychiatrist session, step by step, they have to discover  what they really are. If they fail, they will have to finish their life in the Junk Asylum

- Place board in the middle of the table

- Place the Ambulance token on the Junk Asylum space

- Let the 3 dice close to the board

now let's begin !!!!

A- Take all the cards of one same color, face down:
>>>> Slide the "?" card under the bord 
>>>> Shuffle the confidences cards (cards with dice on the backside) and make a drawing pile close to the board

B- Draw the first confidence card and read it to all players.

Now, players discuss together, analysing this confidence trying to imagine what item they really are.

Example: "Doctor, you know, for me, grail would be to get Swiss nationality" - the card also shows a picture of Swiss flag.
Players discuss together.. one of them thinks it could be Chocolate. Another one thinks about watches...
But at this stage they are not really sure of what they have to discover...

After this debriefing, player have two choices:

1- They decide to get more confidences before making a proposal:
They roll the number of dice shown on the back of the confidence card.
Ambulance token is moved as many spaces as the highest dice value, in direction of Dr Sigmund's house.
Example: for a 3 dice confidence card, player rolls 2-3-5 >> ambulance moves 5 spaces forward.

TAKE CARE: if ambulance reaches dDr Sigmund's house, game is lost immediatly, and players are definitively prisonners of Junk Asylum.

If ambulance is still on the way, draw the next confidence card (goback to B)

2- They decide to guess what they are:
As soon as they think they know what they really are, players reveal the "?" card.

If they are wrong, game is LOST !!! so be carefull before making any proposition....

If they are right, YESSSS !! they score as many points as the number of spaces separating ambulance from Dr Sigmund's house.
NEXT LEVEL: Take all cards of another single color and.. go back to A

And so on !!!

 

SOME TIPS: 

Reality is not always what it seems to be... confidences texts and associated pictures can be helpfull.. or confusing..
