This year’s three inspirational keynote speakers have kindly taken the time to share some of their wisdom and insight into game creation. Across the globe next weekend game developers will be hearing from:
Jenova Chen - as the Co-founder, President and Creative Director of thatgamecompany, Jenova is responsible for the the creation of Flow, Flower and the multi-award winning “glorious, thoughtful, moving masterpiece”, Journey. Jenova was named one of Variety’s 10 Innovators to Watch in 2008, was selected as one of the Most Creative Entrepreneurs in Business in both 2009 and 2010 by Fast Company and was given the prestigious honor of being named to the MIT Technology Review Magazine’s TR35 list, naming the world’s top innovators under the age of 35 in 2008. Kaho Abe - currently a Computational Fashion Fellow at Eyebeam Art & Technology Center and the Artist in Residence at the Game Innovation Lab at NYU-Poly, Kaho researches and builds games that utilize technology to bring people together face to face. An important part of her practice is sharing her work, methodologies and techniques with youth and adults through teaching classes and workshops on designing and building alternative physical game controllers. Richard Lemarchand - best known for his work as Lead or Co-Lead Designer on all three of the Uncharted series with Naughty Dog, Richard is now Associate Professor at University of Southern California. With substantial hands-on video game design and production experience, Richard has a strong focus on structured production pipeline and team-oriented methodologies and loves video games as a powerful medium with great untapped potential.
