I loved this video
He expressed a lot by saying nothing.
Everyone that expected a magic recipe clearly got disappointed.
If you read between lines you can see that the meaning is clearly "stay fresh, improvise, follow your instinct, don't be afraid of silence, of wasting some time, of waiting for an idea".
And that was totally worth watching it.
WASTE OF TIME
Instead watching this video I wasted time when I could have been brain storming!
Boring
Now I can see why Mr Takahashi is a game designer and not a movie maker...
Awful
Most people I know had high expectations from one of the most well regarded creative minds in recent videogames history, but Mr. Takahashi's keynote was uninspiring and boring. 2010's keynote was brilliant, and this keynote seems like it was only approved because of Mr. Takahashi's reputation alone. Maybe Mr. Takahashi thought some people would get it. Well, me and 120 other jammers didn't.
Feedback
The look around the globe and the images from other gamejams were pretty inspiring and the "hints for newbies" were great, but -sorry- the Keita Takahashi part was just a long, awkward silence. Possibly because many haven't played his games.
Yeah, no offense, but it was
Yeah, no offense, but it was either too long or too uninteresting... WTF moment too
I didn't get it either. There
I didn't get it either. There were a few funny parts in the beginning but by the middle I was lost.
This was pretty terrible.
This was pretty terrible. The moment of Zen never came. There was a wtf moment in the room, at the end of the keynote.
