What a Great Game!
I've never played Bubble Bobble, and I've just figured that it was a game that already existed because of the last comment.
For me the gameplay worked just fine and after the second death I understood the hole thing.

I loved the concept behind this! It was quite fun to play and was faithful to Bubble Bobble in 1D! I would suggest however some more play instructions because it was only obvious to me what was going on because I'm a big fan of Bubble Bobble. I think that other people playing it might have been confused.
It also froze when I accidentally pressed "up".
