This topic was really educational and nicely written. I approach to do some additional exploration on this. Gives thanks for sharing this timely data. We require additional like this.
Good job
+Nice graphics (I really liked the spikes animation :P)
+Solid, interesting gameplay
+Sound effects were nice, the music I found slightly annoying. It did fit the theme though, and I know I'm probably in a minority in saying I didnt really like it! :)
-The controls. Could the field be a square instead of a spade? I know it's challenging to create an illusion of 3D without isometric projection, but it did make controlling my character a bit weird. Could mouse control be better?
-Around level 3 the red things changed to blue things. At first I thougt it was only a cosmetic change which would've been +++, but I found it pretty annoying that they took 2 hits to kill instead of 1. It was difficult enough to create combos before that. If you really think the game is too easy without enemies taking 2 hits, you should make it more obvious which shrooms were hit (the flash isn't obvious imo) and how much health they have left.
All in all, a nice idea for a game. I see some phone potential ;)
Crushed some shrooms and mostly liked it
A good little game, and the music is very fitting. The controls were odd at first, but didn't bother me too much. However, I got stuck on level 4 - first I didn't realize that the amount of spikes is limited, and then got a bit frustrated. The attack pattern of the dude is interesting, even if it makes the game a bit hard to play.
I want your shrooms
+ Sleek graphics
+ Nice gameplay
+ Music kept me going
- Controls. So if I want to go right, I press down? ...WHY!?
Thanks for your comment.
Thanks for your comment. Yeah, the controls are a bit weird due to the isometric view...
