If the game crashes after automatic Live profile signs in..
..you are probably using an Online Live profile which automatically connects to the network. Because Crash Lander was developed without the commercial Creators Club membership, the game requires a local profile to play. Otherwise the Live throws an exception and crashes the game.
The solution is to disable the automatic Online Live profile sign-in from another Windows Live game, and when Crash Lander starts, you must press the Home key to create a local profile.
This was our first XNA game and we didn't know about these issues until after the Game Jam. Had we known, we would have used some other networking system as the XNA networking requires an insane amount of pre-installed software..
Crashy
The game kept crashing on me after a few seconds of music and space. I was sometimes able to get the Live login screen, and it even detected my account, but it would always crash before I got into the actual game.
You need to sign in a Windows Live Gamer profile
No, the game is not just about listening to music and watching space :)
When the music starts playing, you should press the home button on keyboard to open the windows live gamer screen, create a local user and sign it in.
We know there should be an info text about that, but we noticed the problem too late and unfortunately ran out of time. Sorry about the trouble.
Um...
So...
- Is the game only about looking an image of space, while listening to music?
