Starting the game -------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Unzip the zip-file and double-click GrowUp_0.1.0_fullscreen.jar

1) Unzip the contents of the package
2) Open up terminal. On mac, select Applications > Utilites > Terminal
3) Change directory to game directory's root, example:
cd gamedir
4) Start game by typing
java -jar GrowUp_0.1.0_fullscreen.jar
The game is controlled using right and left arrow keys, which tilt the screen. Your task is to guide the seedling to the surface. You start at the center of earth, so you can basically go in any direction you like, but don't get lost.
On the way, you also need to dodge rocks scattered throughout the earth. The rocks will slow you down and if your speed stops completely, your seedling will die. But the game does not end, for the seedling keeps sprouting little branches as it travels through the earth. Should your main branch die, the most recent of these branches will awaken and you can continue your journey from there.
You can also speed your growth by absorbing water. This will allow you to even travel through rocks if you are going fast enough!
